Skill Development Programs

Education is the first step towards empowerment. With this in mind, Sparks of Africa established a highly professional Skill Acquisition, Empowerment & Development (SAED) Centre in Ilorin, Nigeria. The SAED Center is a unique program that imparts high-tech innovation training in multiple disciplines. The center will also run entrepreneurship programs for youth where they will learn to exploit their ideas and skills for professional endeavors. The SAED Center has the enormous capacity to cater to 1000 talented graduates in various fields. The expected outcome of this attempt is development of highly skilled, technically sound and more educated youngsters in Nigeria.

Drop of Life

Drop of life initiative by Sparks of Africa is an effort to make clean water accessible for every person in Nigeria and later throughout Africa. Through the Drop of Life platform, we are striving to achieve a world where clean water is a fundamental right and not a privilege. Many a people in Nigeria are deprived of clean water for drinking, hygiene and cooking. Sparks of Africa plans to build water wells for potable water, install hand pumps wherever water table permits it and effect the change for as many people as possible with access to clean and healthy water. To make our efforts more environmentally sustainable we also work to create rain water collection pits and water filters that would clean the water for domestic use.

The Future of Africa

The future of Africa is a child rights program that is run by our organization for the children of Nigeria. Almost 10.5 million children in Nigeria are unable to attend school. The right to education for every child is universally acclaimed and should be a priority. Sparks of Africa is working towards raising awareness about child rights across the country. And the entire world. Under the Future of Africa program, we are running mass media campaigns, large scale interventions in remote areas for increasing school enrollments and running volunteer teaching programs to spark an interest in education among the young ones. Additionally, Future of Africa program also caters to children’s vaccination, health programs and healthy food initiatives.

Youngsters Rule

Youngsters Rule is a youth advocacy program with the objective of promoting involvement of young people in politics and governance through political interactions, Youth Parliament initiatives, and arranging seminars, trainings programs and visits to local government and parliamentary sessions. The program focuses on political grooming of youth, and expects to achieve meaningful interaction and collaboration between youngsters and key policy actors. The expected outcome of the program is a more politically aware youth who can actively participate in inclusive decision-making. The program also aims to inculcate youth as volunteers in public sector, federal establishments, and other institutions to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to work in an inclusive society promoting peace, diversity and global citizenship.

Polishing Our Diamonds

As a part of our efforts to empower youth in Nigeria, Sparks of Africa maintains a steady partnership with leading educational institutions and universities of the world. We believe that quality higher education is the key to empowering the youth in Nigeria. With our efforts and sustained relationships, we are able to source a number of scholarships and free programs, training courses and other diplomas for African Students specifically students from Nigeria. These scholarships are limited and have some stringent selection criteria. To meet those requirements, we develop our human resource by educating and training our youth to compete and apply for these scholarships.
